Open Rank Breast Surgeon (Finance)

The University of South Florida (USF) Department of Surgery and Tampa General Hospital (TGH) is seeking a breast surgical oncologist to join the Division of Surgical Oncology. This is a full‑time faculty appointment that carries with it attending staff privileges at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and affiliated hospitals.

TGH is a level 1 trauma center that serves as a tertiary care facility serving south central and west Florida. The successful candidate must be a BC/BE General Surgeon; be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Florida; and eligible to work in the United States. USF and affiliates partner to sponsor a nationally recognized General Surgery residency program.

Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. For Associate/Full Professor Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization. Must have current, unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Florida or be eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Florida.

Candidate must be Board Certified in General Surgery or Board Eligible in General Surgery.

Candidates must be experienced surgeons in breast surgery with extensive knowledge and experience in clinical trials, demonstrated excellence in clinical care of patients with breast diseases, both benign and malignant.

This role will require significant interaction with a multidisciplinary team of individuals, including medical and radiation oncology faculty. Actively participate in didactic education of multiple learners including residents, fellows, and medical students. Supervise, mentor, and train surgical residents and fellows.
