Job summary

The Department of Internal Medicine at University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine seeks an Open Rank physician to provide gastroenterology services at the Morsani Center and Tampa General Hospital. This is a full-time 12-month salaried faculty appointment with attending staff privileges at TGH and affiliated hospitals.

Responsibilities include ambulatory GI clinics, inpatient call, endoscopy time, and teaching medical students, residents and fellows.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution and eligible for appointment.
  • Board-certified/eligible in Internal Medicine and/or Gastroenterology.

Job Description

The Department of Internal Medicine at University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank physician to perform gastroenterology services at the Morsani Center and Tampa General Hospital. This is a full-time 12-month salaried faculty appointment and carries with it attending staff privileges at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and affiliated hospitals.

Responsibilities
  • CLINICAL: Provides General GI ambulatory clinics, inpatient Call & Coverage, and endoscopy time, Participation in clinical teaching for medical students, residents and fellows in clinic, endoscopy center and hospital ward settings.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE: Reviewing charts, phone calls with patients, finishing notes, answering MyChart messages, etc.
  • Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.
Qualifications
MINIMUM:

Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate or Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.

Candidate must be Board-certified/eligible in Internal Medicine and/or Gastroenterology.
