Merrimack College invites applications for an Open Rank Clinical Professor of Athletic Training in the Department of Athletic Training and Exercise Science. This non-tenure-track, 9–12 month faculty position begins July 1, 2027, with focus on curricular development and clinical instruction.

The ideal candidate has a master’s or doctorate in athletic training or related field, BOC certification, and Massachusetts licensure eligibility, plus 5+ years of practice and teaching in CAATE‑accredited

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctorate in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or related field.
• Current BOC certification and Massachusetts state license (eligible).
• At least five years of athletic training experience with clinical/instructional skills.
• Experience teaching in CAATE-accredited programs and advising students.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate athletic training courses and labs.
• Advise and assist with recruitment, retention, and student success.
• Contribute to program assessment, curriculum development, and accreditation support.
• Collaborate on policy development and interprofessional education initiatives.
• Engage in departmental, college, and professional service.
