Job description

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, invites applications for a board-eligible or board-certified Radiation Oncologist to join our team. This position is located at New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY, a regional affiliate of New York-Presbyterian Hospital.


Position Overview


This role is crucial to the strategic clinical and academic growth of our radiotherapy program, closely collaborating with regional leadership, a multidisciplinary oncology team, and the Department of Radiation Oncology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). The position aligns with our commitment to providing cutting-edge cancer care while enhancing research and academic initiatives.


Key Responsibilities


To deliver comprehensive radiation oncology care, including the treatment of central nervous system (CNS), head and neck, breast, lung, gastrointestinal (GI), genitourinary (GU), and gynecologic cancers, along with Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT). Our team collaborates with a multidisciplinary oncology group to guarantee seamless patient care. We also engage in academic and research initiatives within the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.



Department Overview


Our ACR-accredited Department of Radiation Oncology boasts a highly skilled team, including thirteen radiation oncologists and nine medical physicists. Treatment planning is handled by a hybrid team of on-site and remote dosimetrists. Our New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital facility features an Accuray TomoTherapy HD system, which will be replaced by a Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator in the coming year. This summer, we are also updating our current CT simulation system to a next-generation Siemens system.

Minimun Education Qualification:


Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent in a related field.


Other Requirements:
