Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines in Battle Mountain, NV is seeking an Open Pit Tire Technician to join our Maintenance Team at Phoenix.

You will maintain tires on mine equipment and vehicles, manage air pressures and tread depths, and replace worn tires to keep fleets safe and available.

Candidates should have 2+ years in equipment maintenance, basic hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge, and the stamina to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of maintenance experience on mobile or support equipment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics required.
• Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required.
• Experience handling tires preferred.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain tires on mine equipment and vehicles.
• Maintain correct air pressures and tread depths.
• Inspect and remove worn or failed tires and install replacements.
• Repair repairable tires.
• Complete routine maintenance to ensure availability and safe functioning of large fleets.
• Maintain shop areas, tools and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections and participate in hazard identification processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
