Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking a Mine Engineer I at Round Mountain in Nevada. You will perform mine planning, drill and blast scheduling, and design pit, stockpile, and infrastructure layouts to optimize production.

You will collaborate with Geology, Geotechnics, Maintenance and Operations, ensuring safety and adherence to plans. Eligible candidates may receive sign-on and relocation assistance to join our Nevada team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or similar field is required.
• 1–5 years of planning and/or drill & blast experience in hard-rock, open pit mine operations is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with mining software packages (Deswik, AutoCAD, Vulcan, MineSite) is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of mine operations and drill & blast principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate engineering plans, technical reports and presentations to Mine Operations and stakeholders on site.
• Lead pit tours with mine operations and support daily production meetings.
• Improve short-range planning processes and develop weekly mine plans and mill feed strategy.
