Job summary

Kettering Health Network is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in surgical procedures, ensuring sterility and supporting surgeons. This role requires open heart experience and the completion of First Assistant certification.

You will be responsible for preparing patients, passing instruments, and performing key surgical tasks in a fast-paced environment, reflecting Kettering Health’s mission of exceptional care.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of examination for First Assistant certification.
• Open heart experience is required.
• Surgical experience preferred; at least 4 years if not a graduate of an ST program.
• CPR certified.
• Customer service/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care during surgical procedures.
• Prepare and pass sterile instruments to the surgical team.
• Open and close surgical sites, and perform suturing.
• Provide hemostasis and apply/remove dressings.
