Job summary

Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist cardiothoracic surgeons with Open Heart procedures and manage heart-lung pump tubing, supporting the OR team.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited surgical technologist program, a CST credential, and BLS. Minimum 2 years OR scrub experience and 1 year as Open Heart Scrub Technician. Eligible for employee benefits as part of The Valley Health System under UHS.

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent; completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent military training.
• Experience: 2+ years scrubbing in a major OR; 1+ year as Open Heart Scrub Technician.
• License/Certification: CST from NBSTSA; BLS Certification.
• Other: Ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient; pre-2018 hires exempt from certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiothoracic surgeons with instrumentation during Open Heart procedures.
• Prepare and manage tubings used by the heart-lung pump machine.
