My client in West Yorkshire is seeking an Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team, providing vital care to patients outside of standard hours. About The Practice

The practice is a high‑quality primary care and mid‑tier referral practice with eight clinics across South and West Yorkshire, including a 24/7 RCVS accredited Tier 3 Hospital. The hospital is purpose‑built, featuring an attractive building with good client parking, large client bases, and a friendly, well‑established team. The facilities include air‑conditioned consulting rooms, fully equipped theatres, a dental area with X‑ray, and on‑site CT and ultrasound scanners. The team ethos is clinical excellence, with client and patient care at the heart of everything they do. The practice is proud to be Cat‑Friendly in many of its clinics and runs on 15‑minute consults as a minimum. The team is composed of a large vet team supported by fantastic nursing and front‑of‑house teams, with many vets working towards certificates in various specialities.

About You?

The ideal candidate will be a confident individual comfortable working sole charge and performing emergency surgeries with care and precision. You should be skilled at stabilising critically ill or injured animals, adjusting treatment medications, and explaining diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment options to worried pet owners. Strong clinical decision‑making abilities and the capability to manage complex cases are essential. A collaborative spirit and the ability to remain calm under pressure are crucial for thriving in this fast‑paced environment. Experience in designing and reviewing treatment protocols to improve outcomes and efficiency is highly valued.
