Job summary

Samba TV is seeking an Ontology Engineer to join the Knowledge Graph & Identity team, building and validating graph schemas and derivation pipelines. You will write clean Python and SPARQL, support entity resolution, and maintain production-ready graph models under guidance from the Senior Ontologist.

You will collaborate with data science and engineering to implement SHACL shapes, process large-scale TV viewership and web activity data, and contribute to scalable ontology and data enrichment

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in knowledge graph development or ontology engineering.
• Working knowledge of RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SPARQL with triplostore experience.
• Familiarity with SHACL or similar validation frameworks.
• Strong Python, testing, and documentation practices.
• Understanding of data modeling, hierarchies, and entity resolution.

Responsibilities

• Implement and extend ontology schemas and SHACL validation shapes.
• Develop PySpark/Databricks pipelines for event-to-ontology derivation.
• Write production-quality Python and SPARQL for graph data processing.
• Collaborate with data engineering and product teams on schema updates.
• Advance semantic web standards and ontology design reviews.
