Chubb is seeking a Workers' Compensation Counsel (Finance) to support the Global Litigation team in litigation, coverage, and regulatory compliance matters. This office-based role reports to the Philadelphia office with occasional flexibility.

The attorney will oversee nationwide workers' compensation disputes, manage outside counsel relationships, and provide strategic litigation direction. A JD from a US law school and active US bar admission are required.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from a US law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the United States.
  • Undergraduate degree from a US or foreign university.
  • Strong technical background in workers' compensation discipline.
  • Project/Change Management experience coordinating cross-discipline teams.
  • Proven analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee civil actions involving workers' compensation disputes nationwide, including extra-contractual and bad faith issues.
  • Provide strategic direction for litigation, discovery, and deposition preparation; represent the company at trial.
  • Manage appeals to state intermediate and appellate courts; assess potential precedent and industry impact.
  • Offer coverage advice on complex workers' compensation matters and interpret policy language.
  • Coordinate with State Government Affairs on legislation changes and regulatory trends.
  • Provide training and guidance on compliance and litigation topics to internal teams.
