Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking a Weld Expediter to support the Welding Department and keep production moving smoothly. You will ensure paperwork, drawings, revisions, and materials are ready before production, troubleshoot missing parts, and coordinate engineering questions to prevent delays on the shop floor.

You will work closely with Engineering, Materials, and Production to resolve issues, track revisions, and maintain clear communication between office and shop-floor leadership to keep

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or welding environments preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, part numbers and revision levels.
• Comfortable handling production paperwork, work orders, BOMs and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Gather, organize, and review job paperwork, drawings, work orders, and other production documentation before jobs are released to the welding floor.
• Verify that weld jobs are production-ready and that required materials, parts, and documentation are available.
• Track down missing parts and materials for jobs in production and upcoming scheduled work.
• Collaborate with Engineering to address drawing questions, revision changes, discrepancies and technical issues.
• Communicate updated drawings and revisions to Weld Supervisors, Leads, and production personnel.
• Identify shortages or roadblocks to avoid welding schedule delays.
• Follow up with Materials/Production/Engineering to resolve issues quickly.
• Monitor upcoming welding jobs and ensure they are staged and ready for production.
• Prioritize and communicate urgent issues affecting active production jobs.
• Maintain accurate job documentation and track outstanding parts and revisions.
• Support Weld Supervisors and Leads with admin/coordination to keep on the floor.
