Job summary

Purdue University Fort Wayne is seeking a full-time, on-site Warehouse Laborer and Operations Clerk. This role combines physical warehouse duties with light administrative tasks, including mail and parcel processing, documentation, and delivery within campus buildings.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in related environments, strong communication and computer skills, forklift certification within 90 days, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years in warehousing, distribution, or related roles.
• Able to communicate clearly in writing and speaking.
• Professional interaction with staff, students, vendors, and public.
• Computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheet, data entry and basic math.
• Must obtain forklift certification within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR check.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
• Able to work outdoors in temperatures from hot to cold.

Responsibilities

• Receive campus mail, US mail, certified mail, freight, and vendor items.
• Complete documentation, inspect for damages, and store as required.
• Maintain records of incoming parcels and certified mail.
• Sort mail by department, building, and recipient.
• Deliver mail within buildings as directed.
• Pickup campus mail and packages for campus mail truck delivery.
• Inspect freight items for acceptability and report damages.
• Operate pallet jack and/or forklift as needed.
• Operate postage machine.
• Follow USPS mailing and packaging regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
