Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Leominster, MA, is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a per diem, on-site role. Under general supervision, you will perform ultrasound scans to aid diagnosis across patient ages and document results in HIS/RIS/PACS.

The schedule includes 7a-11p shifts, with a mixed 4-8 hour pattern and weekends as needed. Required: Associate degree in medical imaging or health field, ARDMS registry eligibility, BLS before 90 days, and willingness to obtain additional registrations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in medical imaging or health-related field (as equivalent).
• ARDMS registration/registry eligibility. No restrictions to work as ultrasonographer in MA.
• BLS healthcare provider certification required before 90-day probation.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient clinical information; adjust imaging procedures by patient size/condition.
• Assist, transfer, and position patients; ensure modesty and safety.
• Process and record scanned images per Radiologist protocol; document in HIS/RIS/PACS.
• Check equipment operation; maintain QA and cleaning; stock supplies.
• Stay current with ultrasonography advancements via in-service study and courses.
• Maintain yearly competency in Trophon disinfection processes.
