Job summary

Weeghman & Briggs is seeking a motivated Technical Writer 2 in Annapolis Junction, MD, onsite with TS/SCI clearance. The role focuses on translating requirements into actionable documentation and supporting mission-critical government programs.

You will prepare and maintain technical documents, develop software/hardware documentation, and create end-user guides while ensuring compliance with security standards; collaboration across cross-functional teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Six years' experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Four additional years of TW experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Experience supporting government or DoD programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
• Write and edit technical documentation for all project hardware and software including installation, configuration, and how-to guides.
• Create code documentation for software, implementation guides, and end-user manuals.
• Provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation and format publications from multiple resources.
• Support High-Capacity Sensor Operations (HCSO) documentation and related training materials.
• Ensure compliance with contract and security standards; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
