Job summary

CompTech is seeking a Telecommunications Network Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency’s EIS, NTS, LAN operations. The engineer will design, implement, and sustain secure wired and wireless LAN infrastructure across multiple DLA locations, ensuring reliable, compliant network services.

The role emphasizes lifecycle management, troubleshooting, and collaboration with government personnel to modernize networks while maintaining DoD security requirements.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in network operations; higher education or military service may substitute.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting telecommunications networks.
• Experience with voice, LAN, WAN, wireless networking, and network management technologies.
• Proficiency with network protocols, routing, switching, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, and support enterprise wired and wireless LAN infrastructure.
• Maintain the technical baseline of network systems throughout the lifecycle, including deployment, operations, maintenance, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Perform network engineering, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for LAN, WAN, voice, and wireless environments.
• Support the integration and testing of new hardware, software, and network technologies while minimizing operational disruption.
• Analyze network performance, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with government personnel and cross-functional technical teams to support network modernization and continuous service improvement.
• Ensure network solutions comply with DoD security requirements, enterprise standards, and configuration management processes.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, engineering artifacts, and implementation procedures.
