Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer II for a hands-on, onsite contract in Sunnyvale, CA. The role spans hardware and software responsibilities, supporting multiple data‑collection sites, and integrating new capture hardware as it becomes available.

You will configure capture systems, validate data flow end-to-end, and train moderators. Expect travel to sites and the ability to work independently across domains with strong Python and Linux skills.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hardware and software experience.
• Provide remote and in-person technical support to data collection sites – debugging capture rigs, network issues, and pipeline failures.
• Help bring up new studies: configure capture systems, set up protocols, validate end-to-end data flow, and train moderators.
• Test new hardware and qualify it for production use.
• Design, prototype, and build custom capture systems and supporting hardware (including PCBs).
• Write and maintain scripts and small tools that automate common moderator and operations workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on hardware and software support across multi-site studies.
• Debug capture rigs, network issues, and data pipelines.
• Configure capture systems for new studies and validate end-to-end data flow.
• Develop and test hardware components and PCB designs.
• Automate moderator and operations tasks with scripts and tools.
