Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Classified Systems Administrator 2 to maintain IT infrastructure, manage servers, and uphold security posture. This onsite role supports end users, performs patching, and collaborates with the IA group to ensure accreditation and compliance.

Required qualifications include a BS in IT, 3–5 years in systems or networking administration, Security+ or higher, and experience with LDAP/AD, VMware, Nessus, and Splunk.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of systems administration or networking administration.
• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or related field required.
• Master's Degree in Information Technology preferred.
• Security+ certification or higher required.
• 3–5 years experience in systems administration or networking administration.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain IT infrastructure systems (servers, switches, routers, firewalls, IDS, encryption devices).
• Maintain and update documentation including SOPs and network drawings.
• Conduct reviews to identify security weaknesses and ensure compliance.
• Provide resolutions to moderately complex technical issues and escalate when needed.
• Perform patching, deployment, license, hardware and lifecycle management.
• Coordinate with Information Assurance to maintain accreditation processes.
• Develop and test system specifications and requirements, and guide junior staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
