Job summary

Delta System & Software, Inc. onsite in Cupertino seeks a System Test and Design Engineer to design hardware that validates board-level functionality and electrical performance for Apple products.

You will lead fixture design, firmware/FPGA- IP work, and instruments critical to product integrity while collaborating across design, firmware, software, and operations. Domestic/international travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. EE (or similar) with 3+ years of experience.
• Design and understand analog, digital and power electronics hardware.
• Schematic & PCB layout design using Allegro or similar CAD tool.
• Design and debug complex schematics/PCB layouts; propose experiments.
• Experience with USB 3.2, USB-PD, DisplayPort, PCIe, I2C, SPI.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.
• Nice to have bed-of-nails fixtures and test instruments.
• Experience with parametric data analysis (CPK, GRR).
• Willing to travel up to 20% domestically/internationally; 8–10 days per trip.
• Prior technical leadership or project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Test fixture hardware design and integration with test instruments; from prototype to mass production.
• Collaborate with system design and diagnostics teams early in development.
• Learn system architecture and design tests for functionality and performance.
• Be the technical expert in design, understanding, presentation, and debugging of test processes.
• Serve as liaison to contract manufacturers to validate test hardware and software.
• Document tests and develop product test plans and diagnostic methods.
• Implement test process control and collect parametric data.
