Job summary

Independence Family Animal Care located in Armour, SD, seeks a Filter Compliance Technician in a full-time on-site role. The technician will oversee biosecurity audits and air filtration systems to protect swine herds from airborne diseases.

Daily tasks include inspecting facilities, maintaining ventilation, and ensuring adherence to protocols. Qualified candidates have 2+ years of livestock experience, strong attention to detail, and good communication.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• 2+ years of livestock experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Biosecurity Audits: Inspect interior and exterior areas of swine facilities for biosecurity measures and proper protocols.
• Filtration System Maintenance: Audit ventilation systems, fans and shutters, and inspect attic spaces for filter effectiveness.
• Protocol Compliance: Ensure adherence to airlock protocols and disinfection/downtime procedures.
• Inventory Management: Monitor equipment and supplies in biosecure areas for readiness.
• Collaboration and Training: Work with on-site technicians and participate in monthly audits with leaders.
