Job summary

Evernorth Health Services, a division of The Cigna Group, seeks a Staff Pharmacist to dispense medications in a fast-paced environment at our Orlando, FL location. You will oversee pharmacy technicians, verify prescriptions, and coordinate with physicians to ensure accurate, effective patient care.

The role requires a valid Florida Pharmacist license, ACPE-accredited Pharm.D or B.S. in Pharmacy, and the ability to work a flexible on-site schedule with on-call weeks.

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree required.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing (Florida).
• Strong problem-solving and cross-department collaboration skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians; interpret prescriptions.
• Verify prescriptions and ensure accuracy of drug strength, sig, and drug name.
• Verify and confirm validity of controlled substances.
• Enter and verify prescription data in the system.
• Contact physicians for new transfers and authorizations.
• Collaborate with physicians to convert to generics or preferred drugs.
• Counsel patients on medication use and interactions.
• Back up other pharmacists and train junior staff.
