Job summary

Accredo Specialty Pharmacy, part of Evernorth Health Services, is seeking full-time staff pharmacists to join their team in Newark, DE. This onsite position is located at our Newark, DE location and requires working onsite.

You'll oversee technicians, verify prescriptions, contact doctors to verify information, counsel patients, and back up other pharmacists as needed. A valid ACPE-accredited degree and active pharmacist license with 1+ year of experience are required, with a competitive bonus

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited degree (B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm.D) and licensure in good standing.
• 1+ year of pharmacist experience.
• Current pharmacist license in good standing.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions; provide patient counseling and ensure accuracy.
• Flexible schedule for peak volume times and adaptability in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians; verify prescriptions and prescription details; contact doctors/patients to expedite orders and verify information.
• Verify prescription data entered in the system; obtain authorization for new/transfer prescriptions; work with physicians to convert to generics when possible.
• Counsel patients on medication use and potential interactions; ensure safety and effectiveness of therapies.
• Back up other pharmacists as needed and assist with training less experienced staff.
