Job summary

Connect Search is seeking a Staff Accountant in Deer Park, Texas, to join a growing team. This contract-to-hire role is 100% onsite and focuses on day-to-day accounting tasks and month-end close.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and 2+ years of experience with GAAP, Excel, and major ERP systems. You will support reconciliations, financial reporting, and audits with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with a major ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Infor, Sage, or similar.
• Strong Excel skills including formulas, reconciliations, and financial data.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day general accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger accounts and schedules.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash application as needed.
• Review and analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with financial reporting and management reports.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Maintain documentation and support audits.
