Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with a major ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Infor, Sage, or similar.
• Strong Excel skills including formulas, reconciliations, and financial data.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day general accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger accounts and schedules.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash application as needed.
• Review and analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with financial reporting and management reports.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Maintain documentation and support audits.

Connect Search is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Deer Park, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to join a team where you can make an immediate impact. This role will have exposure to a variety of accounting functions and will play an important part supporting the day-to-day accounting functions and month-end close process.

This is a contract to hire opportunity, working 100% onsite in Deer Park, Texas.

Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany accounts.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash application as needed.
• Review and analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with financial reporting and preparation of management reports.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support internal and external audits.
• Utilize ERP software to record transactions, run reports, and support accounting processes.
• Partner with other departments to ensure accurate coding, documentation, and financial reporting.

• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
