Job summary

RQC, LLC in Norfolk, Virginia seeks an experienced Site Safety Officer (SSHO) to lead safety on military construction projects. The SSHO will implement and enforce EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, APPs, and contract requirements, working closely with project teams, subcontractors and field personnel on a busy jobsite.

Requires 5+ years in commercial construction safety, NAVFAC/USACE/DoD exposure, OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, and proficiency with RMS, QCS or Viewpoint.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial construction safety experience on jobsites.
• Strong knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations.
• Experience with NAVFAC/USACE/DoD or federal projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site safety leader and implement project safety programs.
• Enforce safety requirements per contract, APPs and company system.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors and field staff.
• Drive a safe, compliant and productive jobsite.
