Job summary

Potawatomi Defense Operations LLC is seeking a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) for an onsite role in San Antonio, Texas. The SSHO will lead the safety culture, perform inspections, conduct safety orientations, and oversee incident investigations to keep workers safe and return home each day.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years as an SSHO on commercial/industrial projects, OSHA training, and a strong background with government contracts (USACE/CE/NAVFAC).

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of documented SSHO experience on commercial and/or industrial projects.
• Completion of 30-hour OSHA course plus 40 hours of training and 8 hours continued education per year for five years.
• Experience working on government projects (USACE/CE/NAVFAC) preferred.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct personnel and equipment inspections daily.
• Conduct safety orientations and meetings on site.
• Conduct mishap investigations.
• Maintain safety reference materials at the jobsite.
• Attend pre-construction conferences and meetings.
• Implement and enforce EM 385-1-1 requirements.
• Ensure subcontractor safety compliance.
• Remove personnel not wearing PPE or safety risks.
