Job summary

Lumafield in San Francisco is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customer engineering and manufacturing teams to deploy and execute technical projects on-site.

You will operate scanning hardware, perform analysis using the company platform to support defect detection and measurement workflows, implement ML models, train customers, and travel for extended on-site engagements.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering; at least three years of professional experience in solution, manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
• Proficiency in manufacturing processes and Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, or PFMEA.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to lead technical conversations and represent the company independently.
• Ability to travel for extended on-site engagements.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and execute technical projects on-site with customer engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Operate scanning hardware and perform analysis using the company platform to support defect detection and measurement workflows.
• Implement machine learning models and integrate them into customer production environments.
• Drive customer training and adoption to build internal capabilities.
• Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to track deliverables and resolve technical challenges.
