Job summary

Wonderful Orchards is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead developers, shape technical strategy, and own the architecture of .NET and Oracle-based applications. This role drives delivery priorities, reliability, and modernization across environments, with hands-on architectural review and performance leadership.

You will manage teams, vendor relationships, budgets, and roadmaps, collaborating with business and IT leaders to translate requirements into realistic plans and architecture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Ten or more years of experience in application development, software architecture, or enterprise systems.
• Five or more years of experience leading software-development teams, including coaching, performance management, and resource planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and evaluate .NET and Oracle developers, while developing the team's technical and leadership capabilities.
• Establish team goals, allocate resources, manage workloads, and support succession and professional development.
• Own application roadmaps, priorities, delivery commitments, and the long-term health of the application portfolio.
• Partner with business and IT leaders to define requirements, evaluate tradeoffs, and establish realistic delivery plans.
• Provide architectural direction for .NET applications, Oracle database solutions, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
• Establish and enforce standards for design, development, code review, testing, security, documentation, deployment, and support.
• Oversee Azure DevOps backlogs, Git repositories, build and release pipelines, and related development controls.
• Ensure production reliability through monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Plan and lead platform upgrades, application modernization, technical-debt reduction, and application retirement.
• Manage contractors, consulting firms, budgets, statements of work, and vendor performance.
• Communicate delivery status, risks, resource constraints, and technical recommendations for business and IT leadership.
• Participate directly in architecture reviews, complex troubleshooting, and critical development work when appropriate.
