Job summary

Wonderful Orchards LLC in California seeks a Software Development Manager to lead a team of developers and shape the technical strategy for custom applications, enterprise integrations and reporting solutions. You will own architecture, priorities, delivery commitments, and modernization efforts across primarily .NET and Oracle tech stacks.

The role requires hands-on leadership, architecture reviews, complex debugging, and ensuring high-performance delivery across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field.
• Ten or more years of experience in application development, software architecture, or enterprise systems.
• Five or more years of experience leading software-development teams, including coaching, performance management, and resource planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and evaluate .NET and Oracle developers.
• Establish team goals, allocate resources, manage workloads, and support succession and professional development.
• Own application roadmaps, priorities, delivery commitments, and the long-term health of the application portfolio.
• Partner with business and IT leaders to define requirements, evaluate tradeoffs, and establish realistic delivery plans.
• Provide architectural direction for .NET applications, Oracle database solutions, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
• Establish and enforce standards for design, development, code review, testing, security, documentation, deployment, and support.
• Oversee Azure DevOps backlogs, Git repositories, build and release pipelines, and related development controls.
• Ensure production reliability through monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Plan and lead platform upgrades, application modernization, technical‑debt reduction, and application retirement.
• Manage contractors, consulting firms, budgets, statements of work, and vendor performance.
• Communicate delivery status, risks, resource constraints, and technical recommendations for business and IT leadership.
• Participate directly in architecture reviews, complex troubleshooting, and critical development work when appropriate.
