Job summary

Vision IT seeks an experienced SIPR Lead / VMware SME to support mission-critical operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base. You will lead NIPR and SIPR VDI environments, ensuring stability, security, performance, and readiness of enterprise virtualized systems across classified and unclassified networks.

The role requires advanced VMware expertise, DoD experience, and ability to guide implementation, troubleshooting, and sustainment in high-security environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in systems administration, virtualization, or enterprise infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience supporting VMware VDI in NIPR/SIPR environments.
• Active Secret Clearance or above.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SME for NIPR and SIPR VDI environments.
• Manage VMware-based virtual infrastructure for classified and unclassified operations.
• Provide advanced systems administration for enterprise virtual environments.
• Troubleshoot complex VDI, virtualization, and systems integration issues.
• Design and sustain VMware solutions per DoD security requirements.
• Monitor performance and health across SIPR and NIPR environments.
• Support upgrades, patching, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, network operations, and engineering teams.
• Develop documentation, implementation plans, and operating procedures.
• Mentor system administrators and support personnel.
