Job summary

908 Devices is seeking a hands-on Service Technician in Danbury, CT to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain handheld HPMS, FTIR, and Raman devices. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical service and support to customers, including depot troubleshooting and field and remote assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and strong oral/written communication.
• Strong troubleshooting/repair abilities and technical acumen.
• Advanced knowledge of basic computer systems and peripherals.
• Ability to make effective decisions and solve difficult problems.
• Ability to work independently to complete tasks.
• 2+ year degree in a Technical Field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years directly supporting customers (preferred).
• Experience with markets such as Pharmaceutical, Safety & Security, Military, Law Enforcement (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical SME to device repairs and issue resolution.
• Maintain world-class service levels through metric goals.
• In-house technical support, installation, and repair.
• Contribute to projects solving customer service issues.
• Maintain service records in our business systems.
• Maintain technical knowledge base and customer communications.
• Partner with the Manufacturing Engineering team to assemble and test 908 Devices Field Forensics subassemblies.
• Participate in quality and engineering initiatives.
• Maintain the sales demo, training, and service loaner device pools.
• Less than 10% travel required.
