Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Senior Construction Specialist in Providence, RI to lead on-site oversight of capital construction projects within the Northeast portfolio. You will monitor scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating with field supervisors and contractors to ensure project success.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance with Amtrak standards, and effective reporting, with travel up to 75% as required by project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 3 years of prior relevant experience required
• Valid US driving license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates work activities, track outages, and power outages with various Amtrak departments.
• Organizes and attends project site walks with contractors and Amtrak personnel.
• Ensures project execution per scope, costs, and schedule.
• Provides daily production reports on projects.
• Provides weekly updates on project status and issues.
• Attends progress meetings and reports on status.
• Reviews change requests and prepares change notices when justified.
• Prepares and reviews Safety Site Specific Work Plans.
• Reviews contractors’ design submittals and coordinates with offices and ADEs.
• Performs daily safety audits and implements corrective actions.
• Communicates safety rules and policies to support safety goals.
