Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Security Control Assessor for a 100% onsite role in San Diego, CA. The contract is long-term (W2) with a pay range of $95-110/hr, supporting sensitive classified environments and mission systems.

Responsibilities include evaluating security controls, identifying gaps, and ensuring RMF compliance across IT/OT. Candidates should have advanced degrees with extensive experience or equivalent years in cybersecurity and hold or be eligible for a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be able to obtain a DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• Deep knowledge of RMF/ NIST 800-53 security controls and authorization.
• Experience conducting security control assessments across IT/OT environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication for senior government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security control assessments and independent evaluations.
• Review implementations across on-prem, cloud, hybrid, and OT environments.
• Recommend remediation actions and ensure RMF compliance.
• Present findings to senior leadership and project teams.
