Sunbelt Staffing in Illinois is seeking a skilled School Social Worker to support students in a middle and high school. This onsite contract role offers 40 hours per week and a chance to mentor a team of eager interns while collaborating with teachers, families, and administrators to promote a positive school climate.

You will deliver counseling, crisis intervention, and assessments, maintain clear records, and ensure compliance with state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid state license (Illinois SSW) and a Professional Educator License (PEL).
• Experience in a school setting, preferably with middle and high school populations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to mentor interns and liaise with staff.
• Commitment to culturally responsive, student-centered support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct social work services to students, including counseling and crisis intervention.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to foster a supportive environment.
• Supervise and guide a team of social work interns, ensuring their professional growth.
• Develop and implement interventions for students facing personal, behavioral, or academic challenges.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and ensure adherence to state and district guidelines.
