Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking a Safety Technician to support a turnaround in LaPorte, TX. The role involves assisting in safety program administration, conducting inspections, and supporting emergency response and permit issuance.

Ideal candidates will have NCCER certification or a safety degree, plus industrial safety experience and site orientation familiarity. Local candidates preferred; valid driver’s license required; no per diem.

Qualifications

• Technical training and/or industrial related safety experience.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Hazard Communication orientation/test.
• Turner Industries indoctrination.
• OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87).
• Job site orientation.
• Job site safety requirements (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to health or safety.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the administration and supervision of project safety and fire protection programs.
• Conducts regular walk-through inspections and documents hazardous conditions; prepares reports.
• Issues permits and assists in emergency rescues and safety training.
• Maintains fire protection and grounding systems and controls hazardous working conditions.
