Job summary

Central States Industrial is hiring a Safety Specialist for an onsite Springfield, MO role. You will drive safety culture, conduct audits, train staff, and maintain safety documentation while ensuring compliance with OSHA and CSI SOPs.

The position reports to the Corporate Safety Director and collaborates with shop and warehouse teams. The role emphasizes hazard identification, incident reporting, and continuous safety improvements with a focus on fall protection, confined spaces, respiratory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
• Field construction experience in food and/or pharmaceutical industries.
• Ability to become an authorized OSHA 10/30 Hour Trainer.
• Extensive computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support and strengthen CSI’s safety culture across CSI facilities.
• Conduct safety audits and hazard assessments across shop production and warehouse areas.
• Assist with Safety Manual revisions, safety documentation, and inspection checklists.
• Train and mentor leadership and employees on safety responsibilities and compliance.
• Monitor safety programs including fall protection, confined space, respirators, forklifts, LO/TO, SDS, and toolbox talks.
• Escalate safety engagement issues to the Corporate Safety Director and drive accountability.
