Job summary

Entergy Mississippi, LLC is hiring a Safety Specialist I-III to own safety practices on job sites and prevent incidents through risk assessments and training. The role emphasizes coaching, site inspections, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure safe work environments.

This position requires experience with safety regulations, RCA methods, and data-driven safety improvements, including the ability to respond to unsafe conditions and participate in incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Safety knowledge of construction/industrial regs.
• Ability to observe and engage with employees and contractors.
• Experience with root cause analysis tools (TapRoot, Cause Mapping, Fishbone, Five Whys).
• Ability to analyze data to identify trends and inform actions.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement safety programs per management system elements.
• Conduct training to ensure understanding of rules and procedures.
• Provide coaching on safe/unsafe conditions observed during engagements and observations.
• Perform field/site inspections; document deficiencies and develop corrective actions.
• Participate in incident investigations and identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Reinforce safety expectations in line with laws and procedures.
• Review safety data to identify trends and recommend actions.
• Stop work when unsafe conditions exist.
