Job summary

Farmer Focus is seeking a Safety Coordinator to actively work on the production floor, ensuring safety through observations, documentation, and timely corrective actions. The role reports to the Senior Safety Supervisor and is onsite on the 2nd shift.

The position emphasizes a strong safety culture, daily collaboration with supervisors and employees, and maintaining compliance with safety policies while supporting incident investigations and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous safety experience required.
• Strong computer skills, including comfort with safety documentation, reporting, and data entry.
• Willing and available to work either 1st or 2nd shift.
• Able to spend at least 80% of working time on the production floor.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Willing to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Accountable, organized, proactive, and comfortable holding others accountable for safe work practices.
• New team members must be able to pass a drug, alcohol and background screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment.
• The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires verification of employment eligibility by the end of the third day of work.

Responsibilities

• Spend a minimum of 80% on the production floor.
• Conduct safety observations, inspections, and audits.
• Identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Assist with incident investigations and documentation.
• Support safety training, huddles, and employee communication.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
• Monitor compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Work directly with supervisors, leads, and employees to address safety concerns.
• Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
• Follow up on corrective actions and ensure safety concerns are addressed timely.
