Job summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) seeks an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer to lead the site safety program at our Florida project. You will administer the APP, ensure OSHA compliance, and provide full-time on-site safety oversight to keep workers safe and contracts compliant.

The role requires coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, and government representatives; maintaining records, conducting inspections, and leading safety trainings.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience enforcing safety programs on contracts of similar size or a CSP certification or safety degree with three years if CSP/degree.
• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification or equivalent.
• Meet EM 385-1-1 Section 1 requirements and pass the 40-hour EM 385-1-1 course.
• Maintain at least 24 hours of safety-related coursework every four years.
• Knowledge of OSHA construction standards and hazard identification.
• Strong written and verbal communication; coordinate with teams and government reps.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Maximo experience preferred.
• Ability to access government worksite; valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and administer the site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
• Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, 29 CFR 1926.16, OSHA, and contract safety rules.
• Serve as on-site SSHO; designate alternates when needed.
• Provide safety oversight with qualified Competent Persons at each site.
• Credential and document safety personnel credentials for acceptance.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, hazards assessments, and follow-ups.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and trainings.
• Investigate incidents and maintain required documentation.
• Coordinate with site personnel, subs, and government reps on safety concerns.
• Maintain safety records, training, and incident reports.
