Job summary

System One is seeking a Safety Director for an onsite direct hire role based in Pittsburgh, PA. The position leads a behavior-based, employee-driven safety culture across locations and jobsites, reinforcing safety as a top company value.

The Safety Director oversees safety training and documentation, ensures each project site has a safety plan with identified risks and mitigation strategies, and maintains an active on-site presence by representing safety across selected projects.

Qualifications

• Holding a safety credential such as CSP, CIH, ASP, CHST or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety management or engineering with related construction safety experience.
• OSHA 500 within the last five years.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Outreach Training within the last five years.
• Board certification as CHST or higher.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver safety communications and training.
• Schedule safety team activities and facilitate jobsite safety visits across projects in multiple regions.
• Manage safety processes and key metrics to track trends and risk indicators.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits and investigations; lead incident investigations and communicate outcomes.
• Partner with executives, field leaders and risk management to develop corrective measures.
