Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking on-site contract interpreters in the Worcester, MA area who are passionate about facilitating accurate communication across languages. This independent contractor role supports both consecutive and remote interpretation as needed, following professional standards and client requirements.

Ideal candidates have professional interpreting experience, proficiency in English and one or more languages, and the ability to travel to assignments.

Qualifications

• Professional proficiency in English and All Spoken Language is required.
• Ability to accurately provide consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Language.
• Submission of a current résumé in English during the application process.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Language during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable to an accepted assignment.
• Follow applicable interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with applicable Propio and client requirements relating to interpreter ethics, confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with privacy, security, and data-protection requirements applicable to each assignment, including HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and applicable client requirements, as appropriate.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients, patients, customers, visitors, healthcare professionals, and other participants.
• Maintain professional language proficiency, terminology, and subject-matter knowledge necessary to perform accepted assignments accurately and professionally.
