Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Security Engineer (Red Team) to identify, assess, and help remediate vulnerabilities while building security tooling and scalable processes. You will work with multiple teams to improve detection, prioritization, and risk communication, contributing to a strong security posture across SpaceX's systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a STEM field, or 2+ years in security software development in lieu of a degree.
• Proficient in Python; experience with GO, C#, C/C++, or Rust.
• Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop tools, processes, and guidance to improve security adoption without slowing delivery.
• Perform secure code reviews and assist teams with remediating insecure patterns.
• Conduct web app security testing using established frameworks and tools.
• Triaging Bugcrowd/HackerOne reports and coordinating remediation with researchers.
• Execute Purple Team exercises to test controls and improve detection.
• Contribute to Red Team operations, including scoping, execution support, and post‑exercise analysis.
• Build and run vulnerability communications with timely alerts on new threats.
• Continually assess threats using threat intelligence, vulnerabilities, and trends.
