Job summary
Siemens Mobility in Lexington, NC is seeking an Industrial Engineer to optimize rail overhaul operations. You will translate engineering drawings into actionable processes and lead high-visibility improvement projects onsite.
The role requires at least 3 years in technical writing and work instruction creation, proficiency in AutoCAD/Creo, and experience with DMAIC, VSM, and 5S. Travel up to 10% is expected.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in creating work instructions and technical writing.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Creo or similar 2D/3D modeling tools.
- Experience implementing DMAIC, VSM, and 5S initiatives.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma principles.
- Ability to travel 10%.
Responsibilities
- Lead equipment and facility improvement projects from proposal through completion, managing targets, budgets, and resources.
- Troubleshoot and configure production equipment to resolve disruptions.
- Analyze manufacturing and logistics workflows and implement performance measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain production documentation and work instructions, and train staff.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and service providers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Support tooling, jigs, fixtures, and equipment procurement and ramp-up for new product launches.
- Conduct time and motion studies and establish standard times for production planning.
- Create and validate BOMs in SAP to maintain material requirements.
