Job summary

Indiana Packers Corporation is seeking a hands-on R&D Meat Scientist to drive applied research and product development across our value-added portfolio. You will translate technical concepts into scalable products, lead plant trials, and collaborate across Operations, Engineering, QA, Sales and Marketing, and Regulatory to bring concepts from idea to commercialization.

This onsite role will be based near IPC's Delphi, IN facility with travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Meat Science, Food Science, Animal Science or related field.
5+ years hands-on meat/food product development experience; pork preferred.
Strong understanding of meat functionality and processing systems.
Experience in USDA-regulated facilities and FSIS regulations.

Responsibilities

Design and lead applied R&D projects on product quality, yield, shelf-life, and process optimization.
Develop formulations and product specifications to meet regulatory and customer needs.
Lead plant trials and scale-up, troubleshoot emulsions, bind and cook loss.
Document formulas, specifications, protocols, and process parameters clearly.
Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, QA, Sales/Marketing, and Regulatory.
Monitor industry trends and opportunities for new products.
