Job summary

Elite Technical is seeking a Quality Engineer to review engineering drawings and customer specifications to develop quality program plans, inspection procedures, and shop floor work instructions. You will prepare MIP and OQE packages with material certifications and testing reports, and monitor manufacturing processes for conformance.

The role requires 3-8 years of experience and a Bachelors in engineering, with the ability to obtain a US DoD clearance.

Qualifications

  • 3-8 years experience + Bachelors Degree in Composite, Mechanical, Industrial or related engineering degree is required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance.
  • Background in performing assessments and audits on equipment, processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9000 requirements.
  • Proficient with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, customer specifications, and material requirements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to interface with functional team members, executive management and customer representatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality Engineering and Quality Management Systems.
  • Utilize various inspection methods, tools and equipment to accomplish necessary product examinations to include, but not limited to, calibrated equipment, special tooling, part inspections, etc.
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms
  • Familiarity or experience with SolidWorks model and drawing development is a plus
  • Perform materials testing processes per written procedures (e.g. Microscopy, Short Beam Shear, Burnouts, etc. if necessary)
  • Implement quality controls and protocols across several program platforms.
  • Ability to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces and lift loads of approximately 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop or climb as necessary to perform required inspections.
  • Work in this occupation involves using your hands to hold, control, and feel objects.

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings, customer procurement specifications, material and material testing specifications, or other contractual requirements to develop program quality plans, inspection procedures, or shop floor work instructions to support program success.
  • Prepare Manufacturing and Inspection Procedures (MIP) and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) packages including raw material certifications, material testing reports, inspection reports, or other objective evidence of product conformance.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and support in-process and final acceptance / rejection of SCI products.
  • Lead root cause, corrective and preventive action investigations and follow up as required.
  • Conduct/coordinate process and product evaluations and assessments on the manufacturing floor and in a laboratory environment.
  • Conduct internal audits on SCI's Quality Management System for effectiveness as scheduled.
  • Collaborate with various functions to assure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with development and improvement of the Quality Management System.
