Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent, seamless execution of site installations through day-to-day management of multi-discipline onsite team (Telos and subcontractor) and positive relationships and collaboration with onsite customer personnel as the onsite interface.
- Identify, collect, and review requirements supporting the design and implementation of wired/wireless LANs.
- Perform site surveys and collect required information to support the design of the network, identify device placement, site support requirements, and materials needed to implement and configure wired/wireless LANs.
- Develop or contribute to technical documentation such as Site Survey Reports, System/Subystem Design Documentation, System Acceptance Testing Reports, drawings (heat maps, topologies, rack drawings), BOM/LOMs, Requirements Traceability Matrices, plans, procedures, checklists, proposal documentation, integration instructions, and technical reports, as required.
- Utilize extensive network knowledge to facilitate the design of wired/wireless LAN/WAN systems and enable integration into an existing wired network.
- Design and test prototype network components and configurations to validate designs prior to fielding.
- Inventory and install equipment according to requirements.
- Perform inspection, scanning, testing, and evaluation of wired and wireless networks to confirm performance and security in accordance with established thresholds.
- Train technicians and junior engineers.
- Coordinate with appropriate site representatives for site access, equipment storage, security, safety, facilities, etc.
- Report progress against plans, schedule status, issues, and risks to the Program Manager.
- Provide recommendations to eliminate problems and make improvements.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of experience in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or experience.
- Candidate must be DoD 8570 IAT Level I or Level II compliant.
- Experience in general networking and network administration, upgrade, and operations.
- Solid technical writing skills with experience producing reports using Microsoft Office Suite including Visio. Knowledge of elementary design to the concept level.
- An understanding of telecommunication rooms (TR), CAT 6, crimps, and wiring standards.
- Experience with team leading, site survey, site installation, and configuration of 802.11 a/b/g/n Wireless Network equipment.
- Experience using measuring and diagnostic equipment to test, adjust, and optimize wireless network system operation.
- An understanding of wired networks including equipment (router, switch, VPN), protocols (VLAN, Trunking, QoS), and the propagation of network traffic, including SDWAN, VXLAN, and EVPN.
- Experience working aloft and understanding of OSHA rules for work on man lifts.
- Employees must pay for travel expenses in advance, which will be reimbursed.
- Exceptional people skills focusing on good customer relations and effective communication with military and government personnel.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- The candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, requiring US citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BICSI certification is a plus.
- Aruba certification is a plus.
