Job summary

HERCO LLC in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a hands-on Project Manager / Technical Project Engineer to lead complex industrial equipment and automation projects from concept through installation and final acceptance. This role requires at least 5 years of project management experience in manufacturing, strong cross-functional leadership, and travel 25–50% to customer sites across the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Bachelor's degree in engineering and experience with ERP/MRP systems are essential; PMP is

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in manufacturing or automation.
Experience managing high-value projects (> $250,000) and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and project scheduling tools.
Willingness to travel 25-50% including extended stays.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple projects from quotation handoff through final customer acceptance.
Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, risk registers, and resource requirements.
Lead project kickoff meetings with customers, internal stakeholders, engineering, operations, and suppliers.
Monitor project progress and initiate corrective actions when risks or delays arise.
Maintain accountability for project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.
