Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced IPU Production Manager to lead a production unit, ensuring efficient operation, meeting line targets, and optimizing resource allocation. You will drive improvements, implement controls, and manage daily production activities in a safe, compliant environment.

The role requires 8+ years in manufacturing, a relevant engineering degree, SAP knowledge, and strong project management skills. Onsite work in Puerto Rico within ABB Smart Power is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Basic SAP knowledge for strategic analysis.
• Project management experience and strong quantitative & analytical skills.
• Strong focus on safe work practices and following safety guidelines.
• Six Sigma Greenbelt certification desirable.
• Candidates must have work authorization for ABB in the US and EU.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production to meet efficiency targets and schedules.
• Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes for cost, safety and timing.
• Maintain/replenish KanBan systems.
• Manage Kronos system changes for payroll accuracy.
• Handle timecards, vacation planning, absenteeism, disciplinary actions and HSE trainings.
• Uphold production quality with Lean Mfg., Six Sigma, and Quality Wins strategies.
