Job summary

Kohler Co. is hiring a first-line supervisor for the Plastics Bathing Products manufacturing team in Brownwood, TX.

You will oversee multiple processes including thermoforming, molding, fiberglass reinforcement, trim, sub-assembly, final assembly, testing and packaging. You will lead hourly associates, enforce safety, implement production plans, train staff, uphold policies, and drive continuous improvement using 5S and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing or related industry experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Experience applying lean manufacturing principles to manufacturing activities.
• Degree in business/industrial management, engineering or related field preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages one or more manufacturing processes by leading the daily activities of hourly associates.
• Maintains a safe work environment by ensuring associates are familiar with hazards and uses required PPE.
• Executes the daily production schedule to meet productivity, quality, cost, rework and scrap targets.
• Ensures associates are trained and maintains a formal training program.
• Follows policies to ensure a respectful workplace and addresses issues promptly.
• Promotes teamwork, continuous improvement and 5S/housekeeping.
• Involves hiring/talent selection by identifying desired KSAs and screening candidates.
• Maintains productive relationships with associates through open communication and feedback.
• Evaluates performance and initiates corrective actions when needed.
• Performs labor accounting, production reporting and area update tasks.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Superintendent/General Supervisor.
