Responsibilities

• Provides engineering assistance for daily production, quality control, problem solving, cost reduction and meeting delivery schedules.
• Executes defect elimination projects using Lean Methodology.
• Promotes continuous improvements in safety, quality and cost in plant operations.
• Collaborates with all involved engineering functions on development or purchase of process equipment.
• Assists in development and implementation of products and capital projects in the plant.
• Evaluates applicability and efficiency of production methods, materials, and equipment.
• Supports procedures and guidelines for Manufacturing Engineering to execute design changes and procedures.
• Develops and implements improvements using new technology and resources to optimize processes and reduce costs.
• Keeps current on manufacturing processes in safety, quality, cost, capacity and material flow.
• Monitors and researches new manufacturing technologies for potential plant application.
• Supports projects improving warranty performance and unit failure rates.
• Champions continuous improvement and cost-reduction efforts to lower costs.
• Assists in vendor selection, equipment specification, and quotation reviews.
